On your big trip to the Canadian Rockies but it's raining and cloudy? Head over to Johnston Canyon on the Bow Valley Parkway, for an amazing hike up a gorgeous canyon, to two separate and equally impressive waterfalls.
The cloudy dull sky will diffuse the sunlight and make all the colors you see more vibrant! That's one of the reasons I like hiking on rainy days.
The canyon is very narrow and parts of the trail are actually suspended from the rock wall, high off the ground. The water is usually always a beautiful shade of blue-green and it is great getting to see it from all different angles.
